My very own zigzag scissors

Meet my very own zigzag scissors:

zig-zag scissors

Yeah, I know I’m such a loser for posting something like this… But hey, come on. This really is the first time I had my own.

I used to borrow my mom’s zigzag scissors, and irritated her. My mom’s a bit possessive of her art supplies, you see. She told me that she’s very particular about them, considering the fact that most of her art supplies were bought even before I was born. I didn’t mind it (though I had to go through hell just to borrow her pair when I really needed them), but not until I started a novelty invitations business with my sister.

The zigzag scissors added spice to a seemingly boring card. So when orders started coming in, we had no choice but to buy our own pairs. We also bought other blade designs that made pretty shapes. If you need a pair, you can get one at any National Bookstore branch. Mind you, they’re not cheap.

These scissors are best used for thick paper though… It’s really hard to use on regular paper.

Yummy papers

White Rabbit candy is one of the candies that I love from my childhood till now. It’s white, soft, and chewy. But what distinguishes this candy (for me at least) is its edible wrapping paper made from rice.

I remember the first time I ate a White Rabbit candy… My dad told me that I could eat the thin (almost transparent) wrapping paper—I didn’t want to believe him The idea of an edible paper for me back then was weird but fun at the same time. I tried to remove the paper, but it was so thin it kept on breaking up :P

Recycled paper art and stationery

I can’t say that I’m really fond of recycled paper stationery (you know, the brown ones?). I find them too dark to write on—this type of paper isn’t something that I will find useful. In case I’d buy some, it’s probably just for my collection or to give as a gift.

Papemelroti specializes in recycled paper art and stationery, in addition to their wooden stuff collection. They sell really pretty novelty paper stuff. Take a look at their site and see what I mean.

The company used to be a small, family-run gift shop in Tomas Morato. Now, they’ve expanded to branches all over the city and added more products to their catalog. It’s basically still a gift shop, but with more products. Check out their paper products (which I particularly like collecting!).
